Call to order 4:05 pm.
The September 12, 2017 Historical Records Commission minutes were approved.
Budget Discussion
1. Nothing to discuss, other than strategic planning proposal.
Strategic Planning Proposal
1. County Administrator's Office has authorized the use of grant funds.
2. Secretary Proto will check to see if the proposal is acceptable for contract purposes.
3. Proposal needs to have dates updated, starting in November.
4. Hoping for dates for retreat in January.
5. Commissioner Sayed will follow up with consultant to get those items updated.
6. Expenses and signing of updated proposal approved on a 4-0-1 vote.
Finding History Day
1. Looking at focusing on the 150th anniversary of Santa Rosa.
2. Working with Historical Society of Santa Rosa and Santa Rosa Junior College representatives.
3. Will be having a meeting in November.
Continuing Business
1. Changes to Resolution/By-laws

  1. No updates.
5. Pre-1906 Vital Records
  1. No updates.
6. Archives / Archived Records
  1. Trying to track down some District Court records and minutes.
  2. Coronor records have not come back to the Archives yet.
New Business
1. HRC Directory
  1. Secretary Proto had emailed out a spreadsheet of information from the outdated HRC Directory that had been started.
  2. HRC Commissioners will need to check and see if that information needs to be updated.
Public Comment
1. Sonoma County Library is putting on a Disaster Recovery seminar on November 29th.
