  1. Call to order 4:09 pm
    1. The April 3 and April 18, 2018 Historical Records Commission minutes were approved
      2. Budget Discussion
        1. Community Investment grant (formally Advertising grant) awards have been pushed back to the 6/5 Board of Supervisors meeting
      1. Strategic Plan
        1. Strategic Planning meeting on Friday.
        2. Secretary Proto will resend email about HRC commissioners availability for Strategic Planning follow up meeting
      2. Finding History Day
        1. Commissioner Rinehart has limited availability for planning
        2. Sonoma County Genealogical Society has a meeting on 9/15 at the Finley Center 
          1. Should the HRC try to combine Finding History event with SCGS?
          2. Commissioner Murphey will check to see if speakers would be available
          3. Commissioner Lovejoy will check on the availability of other rooms at the Finley Center that day
        3. Archives Crawl
          1. Commissioner Rinehart unable to coordinate planning of Archives Crawl at this time
      3. Continuing Business
        1. Changes to Resolution/By-laws
          1. No updates.
        2. Research Grants program
          1. No updates.
        3. Pre-1906 Vital Records
          1. No updates.
        4. Archives / Archived Records
          1. Lynn Downey has started on project at Archives
          2. Commissioner Rinehart met with Supervisor Gorin and Library Commissioner Helena Whistler at the Archives
            • Supervisor Gorin would like to see the HRC work with others to develop a task force, create a plan, and present it to the Supervisors and Library Commission
          3. Commissioner Rinehart invited other Library Commissioners to join the Archives tour
            • Commissioner Rinehart will invite them to a future tour
            • Suggested that the County Administrator and Director of County General Services should also be invited
          4. Interim Library Director Tracy Grey is leaving the Sonoma County Library
            • A couple of people have written letters supporting the hiring of someone who values historical and special collections
          5. Tour of Marin Archives was great
          6. There is a question about whether Superior Court documents were deeded or loaned to the County Archives
