The Sonoma County Waste Management Agency, a government agency which handles green waste and wood waste composting, household hazardous waste collection and disposal, solid waste education, and solid waste planning, is set to expire on February 11, 2018. An agreement to continue the programs of this agency has been drafted and must be approved by all members, including the County of Sonoma, to become effective. The recommended action by the Board of Supervisors is to approve and authorize the Char to execute the proposed Amended and Restated Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement (JPA) for the Sonoma County Waste Management Agency.
