Caltrans reminds road users of Highway 37 closure

Westbound State Route 37 will be shut down from 10 p.m. on Friday, May 10, until 5 a.m. on Monday, May 13, between State Route 29 (Vallejo) and State Route 121 (Sonoma). Please slow down, follow detour signs and seek alternative routes or destinations to ease your commute.

Master Gardeners of Sonoma County event happens May 18

Master Gardeners of Sonoma County and La Luz Center invite the public to a hands-on portable container gardening event on Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Springs Community Garden inside Larson Park, located at 329 DeChene Ave. in Sonoma. Participants will craft their very own home veggie and herb oasis. All supplies will be provided.

Fire and Earthquake Safety Expo May 19 in Cloverdale

Residents are invited to participate in the Fire and Earthquake Safety Expo this Sunday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds.

At the Expo:

  • Hop into a fire engine
  • Run the firefighter obstacle course
  • Meet adorable animals
  • Learn life-saving tips from first responders
  • Witness the awe-inspiring Henry 1 and Sonoma County 1 helicopters in action
