    The County Clerk-Recorder Division of the Sonoma County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor Department has a variety of duties, including issuing marriage licenses, filing fictitious business name statements, processing notary bonds, handling environmental documents, performing civil marriage ceremonies, recording documents including deeds, maps and liens as well as maintaining cross-reference indexes for these documents. The recorded documents are open for public inspection.
