Veterans Service Office

We Help You Claim Your Benefits

Thank you for your service to our country.

To support you and your family, the Sonoma County Veterans Service Office (VSO) can help you understand the benefits available to you.

We assist you with applications for Federal Veterans Administration (VA), State and local benefits.

These programs may include medical care, funds for education and benefits for your family.

Veterans: Get Free Clipper Cards While Supplies Last

To help veterans with the cost of travel on mass transit, beginning Thursday, Nov. 1, the Sonoma County Veterans Services Office (VSO) will give out a limited number of $20 Adult Clipper Cards (for ages 18 to 64). A limited number of zero-value Adult Clipper Cards can also be obtained free, as the usual $3 fee will be waived.

A limited number of Senior veterans (ages 65+) can get $20 Commuter Checks so they can add money to Senior Clipper Cards at local authorized sellers, such as transit offices. In addition, for a limited time, Senior Clipper Card Applications are being processed at the VSO.

To get a card or a Commuter Check, visit the VSO, 3725 Westwind Blvd., Suite 101, Santa Rosa, Monday-Thursday, 8-11 a.m. Seniors must show legal identification with their date of birth.

Clipper Cards are used like a credit card to pay for travel on the SMART train, Bay Area buses and other regional transit. Learn more here: https://www.clippercard.com/ClipperWeb/faq.do
