evacMapImage120On Saturday, August 24th, residents of the Cavedale-Trinity community are invited to participate in the County of Sonoma’s first evacuation drill. The evacuation exercise is part of a community-wide effort to be prepared for wildfires and other potential disasters.

Media partners are invited to capture footage and speak to officials and residents participating in the drill.

  • WHAT: An evacuation drill where residents will practice evacuating their homes and driving through evacuation routes to the designated assembly site.
  • WHEN: 8-10 A.M. on Saturday, August 24, 2019
  • WHERE: There will be two staging areas to capture footage and gather interviews. For images of the evacuation in progress, please gather at Cavedale and Highway 12 by 8:00 am. There will be a sign and the Highway Patrol will be on site to ensure safety.

To interview residents and Chris Godley, Director of Emergency Management for the County of Sonoma, assemble at Hanna Boys Center, 17000 Arnold Drive from 9:00A.M. to 10:30A.M.. Director Godley will be on hand to answer questions about Sonoma County’s preparedness efforts and how community members can take a few simple steps to be more prepared for the next disaster.
