Boards, Commissions, Committees & Task Forces

The California Legislature has taken special interest in opportunities for the general public to become involved in local government by serving on local boards, commissions and committees. Information about vacancies in these bodies is available to the public as a result of legislation sponsored by the late Senator Ken Maddy.

When a vacancy occurs the information is posted on a Vacancy List within 20 days of occurrence.

An application form and information about the application process is available online.

This is a list of all regular and ongoing boards, commissions and committees to which the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors solely appoints members, or in a joint effort with other governmental bodies appoints members.  This list is also available at the counter in the Board of Supervisor’s office.

Thank you for your interest in local government.
