Sonoma County Board of Supervisors to limit verbal public comments through end of year
The County of Sonoma will allow public comments to be made only in person or via email for Board of Supervisors meetings, as well as meetings for the Board of Directors for Sonoma Water and the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District through the end of 2023. Read full story
County Independent Office of Law Enforcement Review and Outreach releases annual report
The Sonoma County Independent Office of Law Enforcement Review and Outreach this year audited 27 cases involving complaints against the Sheriff’s Office, according to IOLERO’s annual report that was released today and reviewed by the Board of Supervisors. Those cases included two officer-involved shootings, two in-custody deaths, and three cases involving canine use of force. Read full story

Rohnert Park Man Sentenced to Prison for Role in 2021 Bank Robbery
Defendant Brandon Celis-Sanchez, 24 years old of Rohnert Park, was sentenced today by the Honorable Robert LaForge to serve 7 years, 4 months, in state prison for one count of robbery with a firearm, and two counts of felony false imprisonment stemming from a bank robbery he committed with another man on November 10, 2021. Sonoma County Health Officer issues order requiring health care facility staff to wear a mask
Given the rising risk of respiratory virus-related illnesses such as COVID and flu, Sonoma County’s Health Officer today issued an order requiring health care personnel to mask when in patient care areas. The health order will be in effect throughout the respiratory virus season, which runs from Nov. 1 through April 30. Read full story
