Amendment to Health Order No. C19-08 Congregate Care/Living Facilities
The Health Officer has amended the Health Order C19-08 of April 16, 2020 to provide additional direction for congregate care/living facilities with the goal of protecting staff, residents and visitors from COVID-19. Read full story
Health Alert: Health Order Requiring Masking and SymptomScreening at Congregate Care and Living Facilities and for First Responders
Effective April 17, 2020, the Health Officer has turned her guidance regarding masking of EMS providers and other first responders into an Order. The Order also includes requirements for masking all individuals who enter a congregate care facility to work or visit, which effectively turns the guidance for all health care workers to wear masks into an order. Health Officer Guidance on Surgical Masking for Healthcare Workers and First Responders
The Health Officer recommends that health care workers, first responders, and staff at facilities providing patient care wear surgical masks while on duty and engaging in activities that involve close proximity to the general public, co-workers, and patients. Read full story
Health Care Worker Flu Order Rescind
The risk of infection with influenza is deemed to be much lower that the risk of infection with COVID-19.Therefore I am rescinding the December 6, 2020 Influenza Health Advisory related to the use of face masks in patient areas for health workers who have not been vaccinated against seasonal influenza.
