Homeless Services Funding

Sonoma County Community Development Commission Homeless Services 750

Fair Housing and Related Services Set-Aside

The Fair Housing and Related Services provision (or Set-Aside) is a specific federal requirement. Funding for these services shall be determined apart from other public services projects and requires separate proposals from capable nonprofit agencies. The Fair Housing set-aside amount shall be up to $175,000, subject to adequate funding.

If duplicate proposals are submitted for fair housing services, the Home Sonoma County Leadership Council will choose one applicant to provide the services based on the following factors:

  1. Applicant's capacity to provide the proposed services
  2. Applicant's ability to leverage additional funding sources that will augment the County's allocation
  3. Applicant's coordination with neighboring fair housing services to optimize efficiency and customer service.
  4. Project's cost-effectiveness
  5. Project's ability to help overcome the effects of fair housing barriers and issues, as identified in the current Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice
