Published: August 29, 2018
On August 22, 2018, the County of Sonoma and WCE met for their eleventh bargaining session. The parties discussed the WCE’s responses to the County’s proposals (a one-year term extension, 2% lump sum payment, paid parental leave, a set of comparator agencies for the bargaining unit’s classifications, County coverage of increases to employee medical benefits, dental premium holiday, Cesar Chavez holiday, annual floating holiday, and de-linking unrepresented employees’ medical benefits from the retirees’ medical benefits, while maintaining current levels of retiree medical benefits). WCE presented responsive proposals that include a request for a salary increase for approximately one half of their members, and increased retiree medical benefits.
The parties are scheduled to bargain again on September 5, 2018.
