Weight of the Nation
Did you know that obesity is a leading cause of preventable illness and death in the United States? Obesity contributes to five of the ten leading causes of death in the U.S., including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, many cancers, and kidney disease. With 68 percent of U.S. adults and 31.7 percent of the nation's children and adolescents (age 2-19) overweight or obese, there is no better time than now to start taking steps to reverse these trends and help improve the quality of life for everyone in our community, especially our children.
County of Sonoma’s Healthy Habits Wellness Program provided screenings of the HBO documentary series "The Weight of the Nation."
