  1. CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL
    Meeting called to order at 6:09pm. Roll call was conducted by the Chair.
  2. LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
    Chair Blalock read the land acknowledgement.
  3. PUBLIC COMMENT ON NON-AGENDIZED ITEMS
    No members of the public addressed the commission.
  4. PRESENTATION
    Christina Fuentes from Sonoma County Advocate of the Inter-Tribal Council of California Family Violence Prevention and Services Program (ITCC) presented on their services. ITCC provides services to 3 local tribes and provide case management to Native American victims of domestic violence and/or sexual. They partner with the Family Justice Center and Indian Health Project. Some of their emergency services consist of housing, outreach prevention, community education, provide clothing, assist with restraining orders, legal and advocacy support, attend meetings with the victims, and provide referrals for other resources.

  7. OFFICER REPORTS AND ADMINISTRATIVE UPDATES
    1. Chair Blalock informed that she met Christina Fuentes at the FJC 10 year anniversary celebration that many organizations were tabling at.
    2. Chair Blalock attended a Reach for Home ribbon cutting ceremony for a Homeless Shelter
    3. Commissioner Cruz-Concepción and Supervisor Gore discussed different services that they would like to bring to Northern Sonoma County especially Geyserville and Cloverdale
    4. Commissioner Cruz-Concepción works closely with La Familia Sana. Cloverdale had their first Día de Los Muertos event
    5. Commissioner Cruz-Concepción is working on public communication on Cloverdale’s evacuation procedures
  8. COMMISSIONER ANNOUNCEMENTS
    1. Commissioner Núñez reported about a month-long event in Windsor “Enterra la Pandemia,” to reinforce the idea that each individual is responsible for the health of the community by promoting masks and social distancing.
    2. Commissioner Núñez is the Co-Chair for Cope Windsor- a disaster preparedness awareness program for the Latino community in Windsor.
    3. Commissioner Núñez was appointed to the Healdsburg Hospital Board representing the Windsor community.
    4. Commissioner Gordon and Chair Blalock presented to the Marin Commission on the Status of Women and got great feedback. They were inspired of all the work Sonoma County Commission on the Status of Women.
  9. OPENINGS AND APPOINTMENTS
    1. Chair Blalock reported three openings in the 2nd, 4th and 5th Districts.
  10. BUSINESS ITEMS
    1. Chair Blalock talked about the billboard for the Human Trafficking Task Force. The Sponsorship is $350 per organization. The image is not your typical image; it’s depicting various individuals of all ages. The billboard is still a working project. Chair Blalock asked for approval of $350 for the cost of the Sponsorship.
      Commissioner Cruz-Concepción requested for the billboard image to be sent to her and asked if the billboard will be in Spanish. Chair Blalock confirmed that she will email out a current but not final version and that the billboard will be in Spanish.

    3. Commissioner Gordon updated the commission on the status of CEDAW resolution that was previously approved by commissioners and postponed due to feedbackfrom HR. She informed the commission about the changes on the resolution and would like approval to accept the revisions.
      Commissioner Barrera thanked Commission Gordon for her work on the CEDAW resolution.

  11. AD HOC COMMITTEE AND PROJECT COMMITTEE UPDATES
    Commissioners to provide reports and/or updates about the work being done by their ad hoc committee(s) and/or project committee(s).
    1. CSW Monthly Radio Project is looking for topics for Native American Heritage Month
    2. No new updates on Impact of Covid-19 on Women in the Workforce
    3. Commissioner Diaz De Leon reported out for the Junior Commission on the Status of Women that the next meeting the Jr. Commission will be discussing on Impacts of Covid on Women. Commissioner Diaz De Leon will connect with Meira to provide her with the recruitment process for next year’s program
    4. Commissioner Quinn got the physical Spirit Awards and asked the commissioners if they would like to present to their winner, to contact her to coordinate that.
    5. Chair Blalock reported out for Voices of Sonoma County Women: COVID-19 Pandemic Edition. Chair Blalock reported that about 100 more people responded to the survey.
  12. COMMUNITY ISSUES, LIAISONS, AND COORDINATORS
    Commissioners to provide brief updates or ideas on the following:
    1. Association of California Commissions for Women (ACCW) didn’t have anything to report.
    2. Human Trafficking Task Force will have the billboard up in January.
    3. The Legislative Advisory Group didn’t have anything to report.
    4. Chair Blalock didn’t have anything to report for National Association of Commissions for Women (NACW).
    5. Commissioner Wood didn’t have anything to report for YWCA
  13. AGENDA ITEMS FOR NEXT COMMISSION MEETING
    1. Think about agenda items for January’s meeting.
