Amber Lucas
Amber Lucas, pronouns she/her, is a City of Santa Rosa resident, and has lived in Sonoma County for over 10 years. She is a Northern California social media lifestyle and wine Influencer and freelance writer, who also works in Digital Branding Strategy and Marketing. She earned her B.S. in Fine Arts with a Minor in Art History from Pacific Union College in the Napa Valley.
Born in Washington, D.C., she is the eldest of two children, and was raised on the Big Island of Hawai’i. Throughout her Junior High and High School years, she experienced a series of personal and social hardships, such as placement into Child Protective Services (CPS) programs, family homelessness, and domestic abuse. Her adolescence provided her a first-hand account of what it means to be in a place of need and support from a community. Today, she seeks to be a facilitator of positive change within hers.
In the late Spring of 2020, she joined local protests advocating for Black Lives Matter, racial equality and justice. She has since led marches, organized family-friendly educational community events, and spoken on multiple discussion panels through Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County. Through dedication and hard work, she has become an influential voice for change.
Amber’s love of knowledge, combined with her empathy and passion to lift up marginalized peoples, has made her a strong advocate for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and WOC voices and representation within her community, especially within the wine and hospitality industries.
Her work has been published by KQED and Wine Enthusiast, and has collaborated with LinkedIn Marketing for their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs.
