Ann Edminster will discuss how good design decisions and careful architectural and construction detailing can create attractive, comfortable, durable buildings that require much less energy for mechanical heating and cooling. Participants will learn key considerations that enable designers to make choices rather than pay a premium to achieve excellent comfort and energy performance.

Internationally recognized expert, John Straube of RDH Building Science will take an in-depth look at continuous exterior insulation, what it achieves, how it should be attached to structure, and how it affects other components such as windows and their installation and flashing. John will also review air sealing, its relation to management of possible moisture issues, and different approaches to provision of filtered air for ventilation.

Free Training Series - Class One Building Envelope and Duct Testing

In this hands-on class participants will learn about building energy science and pressure diagnostics, manometer usage and participate in a Blower Door and Duct Testing session that includes both pressurization and depressurization techniques and duct testing including total leakage and leakage to the outside.
