Nomination period opens for Nov. 7, 2023 Consolidated Election

Candidate nominations open on Monday, July 17, for various special district offices scheduled for election on Nov. 7, 2023. Candidates residing in Sonoma County who are interested in running for one of the more than 20 available positions must file nomination papers between July 17 and August 11 to have their names placed on the Nov. 7 ballot, according to Registrar of Voters Deva Marie Proto. March 7 is Election Day for two fire districts

The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters is reminding voters who reside in the Schell-Vista Fire Protection District and the Timber Cove Fire Protection District that there is an election on Tuesday, March 7. This election only applies to approximately 3,000 voters registered in these two districts. All other Sonoma County voters do not have an election this spring. Read full story

Sonoma County Registrar of Voters (ROV) Deva Marie Proto is alerting Sonoma County voters who participated in the November 2022 General Election and were notified that their ballots were challenged due to missing or mismatched signatures that their ballots will likely not be counted unless the ROV Office receives the appropriate signature “cure” forms by 5 p.m. Pacific Time (PT) on November 30.
