Proposal:

The proposed project is a request for a Final Design Review for the immediate shoring of existing exterior walls of the historic Temelec Carriage House (“Temelec Hall”), which is located on a 2.2-acre parcel, in order to mitigate the effects of seismic shaking. The project scope includes the installation of steel tie rods through grout joints at exterior walls on the north and east using a rotary drill; installing neoprene pads to buffer exterior and interior masonry from tie rods; attaching bracing rods to existing joists with wood blocks (interior), and angling the tie rods to avoid the decorative fascia. Such materials will be covered by the addition of several 6” x 5¾” matching octagonal metal caps on the exterior walls, matching the building’s existing exterior color and façade.
