Department Closures, Re-Openings, Operating Hours, Essential & Available Services

The Board of Supervisors Department and County Administrator’s Office are currently closed.

Most of the County public counters will be closed beginning Wednesday, July 15, through at least August 2, 2020 to help curb a resurgence of coronavirus infections occurring in Sonoma County and statewide. Access to most County services is available online, by phone, and in some instances in-person by appointment.

If you have a physical document to submit to the Board of Supervisors or County Administrator, please mail it to 575 Administration Drive, Room 100A, Santa Rosa, CA 95403.  Please see below for information on other departments.

During the Shelter in Place Order by the Sonoma County Health Officer, tort claims and lawsuits that are required to be hand-delivered to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors will continue to be accepted by U.S. mail.

To deliver a tort claim or lawsuit in person, please deposit your documents in the Human Resources Drop Box located at 575 Administration Dr, Santa Rosa CA 95403 on the north end of the building. The Drop Box is checked daily. A tort claim or lawsuit will be deemed served on the business day before it is retrieved from the Drop Box.

The office for Debris Removal Insurance Collection Program is closed effective Tuesday, March 17. Staff will be checking email but our ability to respond will be limited. Please email recoveryinfo@sonoma-county.org or leave a voicemail at (707) 565-1222.

Animal Services

Status: Virtual, Offices Closed, Essential Services

Sonoma County Animal Services will be open to the public by appointment only. Phone (707) 565-7100 to make an appointment for animal surrenders, and lost/found animals, including reunification. Our office staff are also available to service transactions via phone or web, including licensing. Animal Control Officers are limited to emergency service only. All volunteer activities at the shelter have been temporarily postponed.

Auditor-Controller - Treasurer - Tax Collector

Status: Virtual, Main office currently closed except by appointment. Phone hours from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Sonoma County Community Development Commission (CDC)

Independent Office of Law Enforcement Review and Outreach (IOLERO)

The IOLERO public office is open with a limited schedule. Staff continues essential work including review and audit of complaints, investigations, and proposed policy and training recommendations toward increasing transparency of law enforcement operations. The April 6, 2020 Community Advisory Council meeting has been cancelled.

Permit Sonoma

Sonoma County Probation

Status: Open for Essential Services. Some offices are closed.

The Sonoma County Probation Department remains open for essential services related to Adult Probation, Juvenile Services, Electronic Monitoring, and Evaluation-Referral Services.

The following offices have modified operation:

Regional Parks
