Street lighting increases visibility for motorists while also enhancing safety and security for pedestrians walking after sundown. The Sonoma County Department of Transportation and Public Works (TPW) owns and operates over 3,500 street lights across the County.
Ownership & Responsibility
The majority of street lights on County roads are administered by TPW. However, please keep in mind that some street lights (even on County roads) are privately owned or administered by other agencies (e.g. City of Santa Rosa). In these cases, we may not be able to assist you, or you may be redirected.
To report problems, please call the central office, or submit a service using the link below. Please provide the location, including street name, cross street or address, and the number posted on the light pole (AKA "badge").
