Event is an opportunity to help landowners comply with state law

On May 10th, Sonoma County is hosting a public workshop on the Williamson Act. The Workshop is for those individual landowners with substandard parcels. Staff will explain status of your parcels, options available which include phase out, mergers and revisions or enhancements. In response to a state audit, the County of Sonoma is launching the effort to remove those properties which are ineligible to participate. The County is required to do this in order to comply with the Land Conservation Act also known as the Williamson Act. The Williamson Act provides farmers with reduced property taxes in exchange for maintaining the land in agricultural and farming use.
