Community Outreach #2

The September 15, through November 18, 2020 public comment period solicited feedback from the community on three draft alternative plans. Notice of the public review period was published on the Regional Parks website, Facebook, Instagram, in the Press Democrat, and sent by mail and/or email to residents within 1350 feet of the Preserve, signed-in attendees from the first public workshop, and everyone who had asked to be notified.

A slide presentation and Story Map of the three draft alternative plans were provided to the community online, a hard copy made available at the park’s trailhead parking lot, and hard copy mailed to community members by direct request. The three draft alternative plans explored the possible future development of the Park & Preserve. The community provided an overwhelming response with 285 responses by email and letter, direct message in the online story-map, voicemail, and/or Facebook and Instagram.

The three alternative draft plans (PDF: 4.9 MB) were also presented at the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee Meeting on October 19, 2020, with many members of the community providing feedback on the plans during the meeting.

Community Workshop #1

The April 2017 workshop presented an overview of the scope of the project and the master planning process. Over 60 stakeholders and members of the public attended and were engaged in the workshop. A lively question and answer forum led to smaller breakout groups where participants were encouraged to share their ideas and concerns on maps and comment cards.
