Objectives
- Engage the community and receive input on the appropriate land use designations and zoning.
- Identify and preserve land use of historic commercial and residential properties.
- Eliminate the land use discrepancies and conflict between the General Plan and zoning.
Community Workshop
Planning staff hosted a community workshop on November 2, 2017, in order to receive public input on upcoming zoning corrections for Freestone. The workshop was held at the Salmon Creek Fall Environmental Education Center, 1935 Bohemian Highway, Occidental.

Board of Supervisors Public Hearing
The Board of Supervisors held a public hearing to consider an action on the request to change the Zoning and Land Use designation of 17 parcels in Freestone.
The public hearing was held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors Chambers at 575 Administration Drive, Room 100A, Santa Rosa, CA 95403.

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approved the recommended changes with a 4-0 vote at the April 24, 2018 hearing.

Environmental Review
Exempt, under the General Rule (CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b) (3)) as it can be seen with certainty that the project will have no significant effect on the environment since the project consists of zoning and land use changes that have no effect on the physical environment.
