Santa Rosa, CA – February 10, 2016 – The first of five community engagement workshops on the Springs Specific Plan will be held on Monday, February 29th, 6:00 PM, at Altimira Middle School Multi-Purpose Room, in Sonoma. The public is encouraged to attend and provide input into this exciting planning project for the Springs area, which includes the Highway 12 corridor from Agua Caliente Road to Verano Avenue.
Input gathered from community meetings is an essential step in the development of the Springs Specific Plan. The Plan, once developed and adopted, will guide future development in the Springs and gradually transform the area into a more vibrant, sustainable, and pedestrian-oriented community, with a focus on active transportation and enhanced transit opportunities.
At this first meeting, the public will receive an overview of the process for development of the Springs Specific Plan and provide input and feedback to help create a vision for the plan area. Attendees will be asked to share their thoughts regarding the opportunities and issues that exist in the Springs project area.
Five community workshops are planned to be held in the Springs over the next year and a half. Residents may also participate through web-based surveys and relay opinions and concerns to County staff. The meetings will be conducted both in English and in Spanish.
