Permit Sonoma Fire Prevention

Hazardous Materials Emergency Response

The Hazardous Materials Division is responsible for emergency response to hazardous materials incidents throughout most of the County in coordination with local response personnel. Our state certified Type 2 Hazardous Materials Response Team consists of paid department staff as well as volunteers from the community who are trained to respond to any level of hazardous materials incidents in the county. The Type 2 certification places the Hazardous Materials Response Team into the state mutual aid system meaning that the team could respond to any large scale incident in California upon formal request.

2019 Training Schedule

The team holds monthly training drills on Mondays and the occasional Saturday drill each year. If you are interested in becoming a member of the team, contact us at (707) 565-1152.
