Guidelines for Temporary Tents, Canopies and Membrane Structures for Outdoor Business Operations
These guidelines were developed to establish reasonable prescriptive guidance and supplemental clarification to the general requirements established in the State Blueprint for a Safer Economy for outdoor dining, bars, pubs, brewpubs, and breweries when such businesses are required to operate outdoors.
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors have adopted an ordinance to help slow the surge in new COVID-19 cases and get the county back on track to reopening in a safe manner. This order allows for civil penalties that give enforcement agents additional tools to address those violations of health orders that create serious risk of spreading the virus.

Vacation Rental Urgency Ordinance
The Board of Supervisors approved an updated the urgency ordinance on December 15, 2020. View full text of ordinance which temporarily caps the number of whole-house vacation rental permits in unincorporated Sonoma County.
On May 19, 2020 the Board of Supervisors adopted Chapter 40B - COVID-19 Recovery Ordinance. The ordinance was created to address Permit Expiration Dates in in response to the COVID-19 event.
The purpose of this Policy is to support the safe reopening and operation of local business operations in commercial zoning designations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On July 7, 2020 the Board of Supervisors adopted an ordinance addressing several business related permit requirement modifications including encroachment, design review requirements, and home office permits given the current COVID-19 environment.
This policy applies to ministerial construction permit types where Permit Sonoma is the authority having jurisdiction and meet additional criteria.
