The Office of Equity is made up of a small but mighty team of ive. We recognize that equity work is community work. Using guidance and best practices from our partners at the Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE), the Office of Equity has recruited a team of Equity Ambassadors across County Departments to help us embed equity in our daily work. We are excited to have 23 out of 26 County Departments and Agencies participating in our racial equity Core Team.

Dora Estrada, Administrative Aide

Dora has supported the Office of Equity as an Administrative Aide since its inception, first on a part-time basis and then full-time starting in March 2021.

Before joining the Office of Equity Dora worked as a Program Specialist for the General Services Department in their Energy and Sustainability Division, as a Administrative Assistant at Sonoma Clean Power, and as a Public Relations Intern for University of the Pacific’s SUCCESS TRiO program, a federally funded program serving first generation low-income students.

Dora was born and raised in Sonoma Valley. She is the daughter of immigrants and a former foster youth. At a young age, she learned the importance of community engagement and activism. She is excited to be part of the important work that the Office of Equity will be tackling.

Most afternoons you can find Dora cruising on her bright blue bike, baking, or volunteering. Her tres leches cake is definitely a must try! Some of her favorite weekend activities include camping, hiking, and watching movies.
