  • Adult Protective Services staff investigate reports of elder and dependent adult abuse and neglect, responding 24/7 to life-threatening concerns.
  • The Sonoma County Area Agency on Aging provides and coordinates services for older adults and seniors, including classes to prevent falls, information about transportation options and the Sonoma County Senior Resource Guide.
  • Three care management programs provide support to help seniors and others with an illness, injury or disability remain living at home: Linkages, Multipurpose Senior Services Program and Home- and Community-Based Alternatives.
  • Family, Youth and Children's Services provides foster care for Sonoma County children and teens removed from unsafe homes due to abuse or neglect. Staff also recruit and train foster parents to provide safe, stable, caring homes for foster children and teens.

  • In-home care allows older adults, seniors and residents with disabilities to live safely and independently in their own homes.

  • In order to stay living safely at home, eligible older adults, seniors and disabled residents of all ages, can apply for support from paid in-home care providers who help with day-to-day tasks that clients cannot do themselves.  

  • One-stop employment and training services for employers and job seekers.

  • Apply for or renew all types of health care coverage that helps pay for eligible medical, dental and emergency services, and prescriptions for low-income families, individuals and children.

  • Help protect children and teens from harm with just a phone call. Day or night, if you have concerns about a child's well-being, call the Child Protection Hotline at (707) 565-4304 or (800) 870-7064. Calls can be anonymous and are always confidential.
  • The Public Administrator / Public Guardian / Public Conservator investigates and may administer the estates or assets of persons who have died or be unable to make decisions in their own best interests.
