The Sonoma County IHSS Public Authority offers health and dental insurance to IHSS care providers. These benefits are managed by Dublin Insurance Services. Enrollment is not automatic. Care providers who meet a minimum work requirement can apply for the insurance. When maximum enrollment is met, eligible care providers are placed on a waiting list.

• Meet minimum work requirements for three consecutive months. 
• Meet Time sheet Deadline: IHSS Payroll (Chico) must receive time sheets by 5:00 PM on the 15th of each month for hours worked the month prior. If your time sheet is incomplete or incorrect, it will be returned because we cannot verify hours. We do not recheck time sheets after the deadline. 

• Notify Dublin Insurance Services after you meet the minimum work requirement and have been paid for those hours. Call (888) 838-5370 or (925) 803-1880 to request an insurance/wait-list enrollment packet.
• Continue to meet the minimum work requirement each month while on the waistline. If your hours fall below the minimum work requirement one month, you will be removed from the wait-list.

• Must pay the mandatory share of the premium, and
• Continue to meet the minimum monthly work requirement, and
• Continue to meet the time sheet deadline

Sonoma County Human Services Department Economic Assistance Division provides assistance for low-income families with children to obtain food, shelter, medical and dental care and other supportive services.

• Social Security (FICA) and State Disability Insurance (SDI) are automatically deducted from your paycheck if you are eligible.
• Care providers ineligible for FICA: parents, spouse, and consumer’s (recipient’s) child under 21.
• Care providers ineligible for SDI: working consumer hours that fall below minimum gross earnings.
• Elective SDI: parent, spouse, child (under 18) working for the parent. To set up SDI, call IHSS Payroll at (707) 565-2852.
• Workers’ Compensation Insurance is provided by the State. If you become injured on an IHSS job, call the consumer’s IHSS Social Worker immediately and Payroll at (707) 565-2852.
