Medical Director Services for Juvenile Institutions and Valley of the Moon Children's Home

The Sonoma County Department of Health Services is charged with protecting the health of the public by administering state and federal programs, developing and implementing local programs and policies, convening various community coalitions, and supporting the local health system. The Department accomplishes its mission through promoting upstream practices; prevention, recovery and wellness; developing policy and services; building community capacity; and promoting advocacy and education. Currently, the Department contracts with the Probation Department to provide both medical and behavioral health services in the juvenile detention settings which include Juvenile Hall and Probation Camp. Additionally, the Department contracts with the Human Services Department to provide medical services at Valley of the Moon Children’s Home (VOMCH).

The Department is requesting proposals from clinical healthcare organizations that maintain a focus on pediatric and adolescent care, but also encompass specialty care such as OBGYN, Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) Services for Opiate Use Disorder and psychiatric services, to provide Medical Director Services and potentially mid-level services at Juvenile Hall, Probation Camp, and VOMCH.

The living wage rate required under the County’s Living Wage Ordinance (LWO) has increased. Effective January 1, 2022, the living wage rate required under the LWO shall be $16.75 per hour, an increase over the previous $15.00 per hour. The adjustment was adopted by the County’s Board of Supervisors on December 14, 2021, in accordance with Sonoma Municipal Code section 2-377(d). All covered employees must be paid at least the increased living wage rate.

Proposals must be received no later than 2 pm on February 7, 2022.
