    Licensing your cat is voluntary; cat licensing is not required in Sonoma County.

    Yes, cats are required by law to be vaccinated against rabies in Sonoma County.

  • Does my dog need a license?

    Yes, state and local laws require dogs over four months of age to be licensed each year.

  • Does my dog need a rabies vaccination?

    Yes, state and local laws require dogs over four months of age to be vaccinated against rabies. The initial vaccination is good for one year. After that, rabies vaccinations are needed every three years.

  • How do I find my lost pet?

    It's every pet parent's nightmare: Your beloved pet has gotten loose, and you don't know where he or she is. Don't panic — there are many steps you can take to locate your pet.

  • How do I make a donation to the Animal Services shelter?

  • How do I volunteer to help shelter animals?

    We believe everyone has something to offer to help our animals, and we need you! We have lots of different jobs that help our furry friends!

  • How much does it cost to adopt a pet?

    Adoption fees vary depending on the type of animal and its age. We also offer adoption specials throughout the year with reduced adoption fees for animals.

    Microchipping, spay/neuter surgery, and rabies vaccination are all included in the adoption fee, so your pet will have a safe and healthy start when it joins your family. A license fee, if applicable, will also be payable at time of adoption.
