Job Demands Analysis (JDA)

Job Demands Analysis (JDA) documents the essential functions or duties of a position, the physical, mental, and sensory requirements associated with performing the functions, and the environmental/working conditions in which the duties are performed. In addition it identifies and documents the medical screening, surveillance, and vaccination requirements for the position. It is used to: 

  • Communicate job duties and requirements to health care providers for the purpose of pre-employment/pre-placement, and return to work, evaluations
  • Provide information to facilitate job matching and accommodation of injured workers
  • Communicate job demands and requirements to candidates and employees
  • Provide information for hiring and training purposes
  • Assist in the identification and documentation of workplace hazards and exposures to support the administration of occupational health and safety programs
