Volunteer Opportunities with Agriculture and Open Space

The County of Sonoma offers services and programs in agriculture and open space within the Agriculture, Weights and Measures Department and through the Agricultural Preservation & Open Space District.

There are often multiple opportunities in the areas of agriculture and open space. Land stewards work to manage invasive plants, maintain trails and roads, provide stream enhancement, and other tasks that enhance native habitats within multiple ecosystems. Volunteer Patrollers help monitor District owned and protected lands. Volunteers are also sought to assist on various levels with projects and workshops conducted by the Agricultural Commissioner and the UC Cooperative Extension.

Current opportunities will be announced below.

  • If there are no listings on this page at this time, it could be that the department or program is not soliciting volunteers at this time.
  • You can opt to submit an application and resume if you’d like, but there is no guarantee that you will hear from the department or program if there are not openings. Complete the volunteer application and email it to volunteer@sonoma-county.org or drop it off at County of Sonoma Human Resources, Volunteer Program.
