Don't eat it if you don't love it. Be mindful of what you eat. Decide in advance what you can't live without and be sure to savor each bite of the foods you love.
Slow down. Can't wait to dig into your favorite dessert? You can have a small serving, but sit down and take your time eating and enjoying it. Notice the texture, the smell, and flavors with each bite. By slowing down, you are giving yourself time to appreciate your food and you're giving your brain time to recognize it is happy and satisfied.
No, thank you. Just when you thought you were armed with all the tips and tools available to not overeat, you hear, "You just HAVE to try these rich [fill in the blank]! I stayed up all night making them just for you." A simple and firm, "No, thank you" should do the trick. But if that doesn't work, try, "I would love to, but I can't possibly take another bite. Thank you."
