Things to Know
Camping on County Property:
- Sonoma County ordinance prohibits camping on County property
Removal of Homeless Belongings:
- California law requires notice must be posted 72 hours prior to removal of homeless personal belongings
- County must store homeless personal belongings if removed to allow time for individuals to re-possess
Security Update Do's and Don'ts:
Do
- See something, say something
- See a crime in progress, CALL 911
- Know your department's illness Injury Prevention Plan and Emergency Action Plan
- Be patient, there may be several incidents going on at once
- Be aware of your surroundings
Don't
- Do not intervene if you see illegal activity
- Do not confront transients
- Do not attempt to remove hazardous objects or materials yourself
