We’ve made a policy change that could help you to get paid more quickly when working on a SCEIP project with additional contractors! To this point, projects totaling under $40,000 were only eligible for a single disbursement to be paid when the project is complete and signed off by your local AHJ, no matter the scope of work being done… well no longer! We heard from a number of you on some ways that we could better serve you and we were able to implement one of the more requested changes.
Effective immediately, projects with multiple contractors are eligible for multiple disbursements, no matter the total cost! As an example, if you’re a Roofing contractor and you’ve got a customer using SCEIP, but that customer is also installing a Solar Electric System and financing it through SCEIP, if the cost of both projects totaled under $40,000 you would have had to wait for the Solar Electric Systems contractor to complete their work and have it signed off before the customer could claim disbursement for the work that you’ve completed. This lead to a lot of contractors waiting for a very long time to get paid based entirely on the work of another contractor and their timeline. With the changes we’ve implemented, any contractor can get paid for completing their own scope of work upon completion, sign off, and invoicing of the customer no matter what the other contractor(s) timeline is looking like!
Our aim is to continue to make this process easier and more streamlined for you, our customer. Please give us feedback on how we can continue to improve because we are listening!
