Santa Rosa Child Molester Sentenced to Prison

Santa Rosa,CA | March 05, 2019

Defendant Pradeep Singh, 33 years old of Santa Rosa, was sentenced on March 1, 2019 by the Honorable Dana Simonds to twelve years in prison for molesting his stepdaughter.

District Attorney Ravitch stated, “This defendant took advantage of the trust given to him by the victim and her family to sexually assault her on multiple occasions. He rightfully will spend many years in prison as a result of these terrible crimes.”

The charges were the result of an investigation by the Santa Rosa Police Department which uncovered a pattern of abuse committed by the defendant against the young child. During that investigation, evidence established Singh inappropriately touched his stepdaughter on numerous occasions over the course of a year and a half. The abuse began when the child was nine years old.

Prior to the case proceeding to a preliminary hearing, Singh entered into a plea agreement with the District Attorney’s Office to resolve his case. As part of the agreement Singh pled no contest and was found guilty of 3 separate violations of committing a lewd or lascivious act upon a child under the age of 14. As a result of his plea Singh was sentenced to 12 years in the state prison. Singh will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Andrew Lukas. Detective Justin McLean of the Santa Rosa Police Department headed the investigation.
