County Counsel

Robert Pittman was appointed Sonoma County Counsel on September 22, 2020. County Counsels are appointed by the Board of Supervisors for a four year term.  

The duties of the Office of County Counsel are set forth in California Government Code Section 27640-27648. Generally, the office represents the County in litigation and provides legal representation and advice to the Board of Supervisors, County departments and authorized programs.

The Office of the County Counsel is currently closed.

Effective July 17, 2020 and until further notice, the Office of the County Counsel is closed to the public. If you need to contact our Office, you may do any of the following:
