Sonoma County Hosts "Demo Day"

As Sonoma County’s Voting System Replacement Project gets underway, the Registrar of Voters Office hosted an event for partners and community stakeholders to observe demonstrations (“Demo”) of modern voting technologies and experience first-hand how vendors have designed systems to comply with various election laws, security requirements, and voter needs.
Invited guests included county administrators, city clerks, polling place staff, local political party chairpersons, and representatives from agencies serving the disabled community.
Approximately 35 attendees explored three vendor stations where they were able to cast ballots in a mock polling place, explore accessibility features of the equipment, and learn about California’s voting system testing requirements. Reviews of the event included “fascinating,” “really interesting,” and “this was great!”
