The Community Development Commission in partnership with MidPen Housing, UrbanMix Developers, and Watza Creative Lab invited Roseland community members to choose a new name for the Roseland Village housing development project. Votes were taken at community meetings held last year and via ballot box in the Roseland library. Roseland has spoken and the results are in!
Tierra de Rosas will be the new name of the master development which will create a vital neighborhood hub developed on a 7.4-acre property at the former shopping center site at the intersection of Sebastopol Road and West Avenue, Santa Rosa. Tierra de Rosas aligns with community-led efforts to strengthen the Roseland neighborhood's economic resiliency, expand housing choice, and improve community health per the design of the Sebastopol Road Urban Vision Plan. Seventy-five new affordable apartment homes will be constructed in a development within Tierra de Rosas called Casa Roseland. The Commission is pleased to be partnered with MidPen Housing, the affordable housing
developer, and UrbanMix Developers, the market rate developer, to make this long awaited vision a reality. This development will address the acute shortage of high-quality
affordable housing in Sonoma County.
