Almost 3,000 people are homeless on any given night in Sonoma County. The Sonoma County Community Development Commission conducts a 24 hour “Homeless Count” every year. The Count measures the impact of local homeless services. For the past seven years, the number of people experiencing homelessness has been decreasing. This year, it is up 6%. The housing shortage following the October 2017 played a role in the increase.
