Continuous Exterior Insulation & Moisture Management
Date: Tuesday, May 22, 2018
Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Sonoma County Permit and Resource Management Department, PRMD Hearing Room, 2550 Ventura Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA 95403
This free training was organized by PG&E and is offered in collaboration with County of Sonoma Energy and Sustainability Division.
As North Bay Counties recover from the 2017 firestorms, designers and builders need in-depth information to design and build highly energy and water-efficient homes that are comfortable for those who live in them. This intermediate level training, led by internationally recognized expert John Straube of RDH Building Science, will focus on building enclosure issues. John will take an in-depth look at continuous exterior insulation, what it achieves, how it should be attached to structure, and how it affects other components such as windows and their installation and flashing. John will also look at air sealing, its relation to management of possible moisture issues, and different approaches to provision of filtered air for ventilation.
