Animal Services

Sonoma County Animal Services is committed to serving the public in the care and well being of animals, both domestic and livestock, throughout the unincorporated areas of Sonoma County, the city of Santa Rosa and the town of Windsor.

Coronavirus/COVID-19 Information Update

As of Tuesday 3/17/20, Sonoma County Animal Services will be open to the public by appointment only for animal surrenders and reunification. Please contact our staff directly by calling 707-565-7100 to make an appointment.

If you find a stray, please call us so we can get yours and the animal's information. Do not bring the animal to the shelter. Please take it to a veterinary office that is open. If you need help finding one, let us know when you call.

Although you may see available animals on our website, we are currently closed for adoptions and do not need fosters at this time. Due to limited staff, we are unable to respond to adoption and foster inquiries.

While customer relations staff are available to service transactions via phone, we encourage you to use our online services for license payments, Love Me Fix Me applications and general information due to limited staff availability.

Our Animal Control Officers are limited, at this time, to public safety and emergency service only.

All volunteer activities at the shelter have been temporarily postponed.
