Summer is here and this is the perfect opportunity to visit Sonoma County’s newest recreational area – Taylor Mountain Regional Park.
Taylor Mountain Regional Park is an amazing, beautiful resource with easy access from both Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park. More than 1,100 acres are being protected as open space forever. The park currently has about 4 miles of trails but the master plan suggests the eventual development of 17 miles of primarily multi-use trails along with low-impact campsites, picnic sites, a visitor center, and possibly even an inn near the old mineral springs.
Transforming this property into a park has been at the very top of my list of priorities since I took office in 2009. Until now, there has never been a park like this in south Santa Rosa. Now we have a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind park and nature preserve available to us right in our backyards. I look forward to seeing you on Taylor Mountain this summer!
