Historic Preservation Grants Application Deadline Extended to January 16, 2018
Published: January 8, 2018
Apply Now! Applications are now being accepted for Category D (Historical Commissions) grants. Grant funds in this category are for the renovation, restoration, and/or preservation of historical resources. First priority for grants is given to government agencies or non-profits. Applications that include matching funds or contributions are more competitive. The County will award a total of approximately $50,000 this year. Funds are typically allocated among several grant projects. Grant funds will be available in August of 2018 and project funds must be spent by June 30, 2019.
Eligible properties must:
- Be located within the Historic District (HD) Combining Zone; or
- Designated a County Landmark, or listed at the State or National level; and
- Provide for public access (such as a park, community building, restaurant, B & B Inn, etc.); and
- Provide a public benefit and make a lasting contribution to the cultural heritage of the County.
