National Crime Victims’ Rights Week - April 6-12, 2014
Published: March 13, 2014
National Crime Victims’ Rights Week provides an opportunity to highlight the long struggle to establish victims’ rights. This year we mark an important milestone in the rights of victims. The theme—30 Years: Restoring the Balance of Justice— honors the extraordinary achievements that have made on behalf of crime victims since the passage of the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) in 1984. It celebrates three decades of championing crime victims’ compensation and supporting crime victim assistance programs around the nation. Before this historic legislation was enacted, the world was very different for crime victims, their families, and communities. Please help us celebrate Crime Victims’ Rights Week in Sonoma County on April 8, 2014.
