Agricultural Weights & Measures

Status: Virtual, Offices Closed

During this time, we will be providing essential services, including:

Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space

Status: Virtual, Offices Closed

Animal Services

Status: Virtual, Offices Closed, Essential Services

Sonoma County Animal Services will be open to the public by appointment only. Phone (707) 565-7100 to make an appointment for animal surrenders, and lost/found animals, including reunification. Our office staff are also available to service transactions via phone or web, including licensing. Animal Control Officers are limited to emergency service only. All volunteer activities at the shelter have been temporarily postponed.

Auditor-Controller - Treasurer - Tax Collector

Status: Virtual, Offices Closed

Sonoma County Community Development Commission (CDC)

Office of the District Attorney (DA)

Status: Virtual, Offices Closed

The Sonoma County DA Hall of Justice Room 212-J – Courthouse Building, as well as the Family Justice Center at 2755 Mendocino Ave., Ste. 100 in Santa Rosa are closed to the public. Essential services will be provided via phone and email, including:

Economic Development Board (EDB)

Human Services Department

Status: Virtual, Offices Closed

While offices are closed, staff continue to provide essential services, including services for children, older adults and persons with disabilities, employees, job seekers and employers, including In-Home Supportive Services, CalWORKs, Medi-Cal, CalFresh, and General Assistance.

Independent Office of Law Enforcement Review and Outreach (IOLERO)

Status: Virtual, Offices Closed

The IOLERO public office and all Sonoma County Veterans Halls are closed. Staff continues essential work including review and audit of complaints, investigations, and proposed policy and training recommendations toward increasing transparency of law enforcement operations. The April 6, 2020 Community Advisory Council meeting has been cancelled.

Permit Sonoma

Status: Virtual, Office Closed

Permit Sonoma and the Resiliency Permit Center have moved from physical to virtual operations.. Many services are now being provided virtually including building inspections.

Sonoma County Probation

Status: Open for Essential Services, some offices closed

The Sonoma County Probation Department remains open for essential services related to Adult Probation, Juvenile Services, Electronic Monitoring, and Evaluation-Referral Services.

The following offices have modified operation:

  • Hall of Justice – 600 Administration Drive, Room 104-J: Lobby remains open for limited client services.
  • Juvenile Hall – 7425 Rancho Los Guilicos Road, Department A: Operating, but suspended family visits and programming by outside service providers.
  • Juvenile Probation Services – 7425 Rancho Los Guilicos Road, Department B: Lobby remains open for limited client (Juvenile Court) services.
  • Probation Camp – 7400 Steve Olson Lane, Forestville: Operating, but suspended family visits and programming by outside service providers.

The Sonoma County Public Defender's office remains open for essential legal services such as court representation, client interviews, investigations, and telephone interviews, including client investigations, witnesses, or parties involved.

Regional Parks

Status: All Parks are closed

All Parks are closed. The closure applies to all agencies and jurisdictions operating parks and open spaces in Sonoma County, including city, county, state and federal parklands and recreational lands operated by private groups and nonprofits.

Sheriff's Office

Status: Virtual, Most Offices Closed, Essential Services

Deputies and dispatchers are still working around the clock to protect you. Please call 9-1-1 in an emergency or (707) 565-2121 to reach dispatch during a non-emergency.

  • Main Adult Detention Facility lobby is open. No inmate visitation is allowed.
  • North County Detention Facility lobby is closed. No inmate visitation is allowed.
  • Main Office lobby is closed except for emergencies and mandatory registrations.
  • River Substation lobby is closed.
  • Valley Substation lobby is closed.

Transportation and Public Works

Status: Virtual, Offices Closed, Essential Services only

The Department of Transportation and Public Works public office is temporarily closed. TPW continues to provide essential services including emergency road maintenance, airport and transit services, and responses to public requests.

University of California Cooperative Extension, Sonoma County

Staff will continue to work remotely.

The UCCE 4-H Office instructs that all 4-H meetings and events through April 7 to be cancelled, postponed, or go virtual.
