Road Maintenance Update

April 6 through 10, 2015

Published:  April 6, 2015

Several scheduled projects will be postponed early this week due to forecast rains expected to reach this area by late morning or early afternoon. As of 8:00 AM this morning it was already raining north of Healdsburg and in the Annapolis areas. The heaviest rain is expected tonight and tomorrow.

A scheduled crack sealing project along Stewarts Point Skaggs Springs Road will be delayed until at least Thursday. The crew may be doing some prep work on Wednesday cleaning out cracks if weather allows. One-lane traffic controls will be in place once work resumes. The location of this work begins about 5 miles west of Lake Sonoma.

Another project delayed by weather is a scheduled culvert replacement on Chileno Valley Road - the Culvert crew will be out on Westside Rd making repairs to a damaged culvert early in the week, with hopes of beginning work on Chileno Valley Road by Wednesday if weather allows.

The Bridge crew will continue work this week on Starrett Hill Road in Monte Rio, replacing a bridge viaduct. Starrett Hill Road remains closed through construction. A second crew will be making repairs to expansion joints on the Monte Rio Bridge early this week. Expect minor delays along Bohemian Highway in Monte Rio when it's necessary for the crew to move equipment out into the roadway.

Road crews will be cutting roadside brush and overhead tree limbs along Chalk Hill Road and Piezzi Rd this week. Cal Fire will be assisting the Healdsburg Road crew on Chalk Hill Road Tuesday and Wednesday. A southern Cal Fire crew will be brushing with the Cotati Road crew along Warrington Road on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Guerneville road crew will be roadside mowing this week in the Cazadero area, mainly Cazadero Hwy and Old Caz. A southern county crew from Cotati will be roadside mowing in the west Petaluma area. The Sonoma crew plans to dig out and repair damaged pavement on Burbank Drive and Temelec Drive, weather permitting. Traffic crews will be doing sign maintenance and storm drain inspections this week.
