    On September 26th, 2017, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors will consider the recommended 2018-19 paving program for unincorporated County roads. The work is primarily funded with discretionary local dollars, and some funds from the new State Gas Tax. In total, the work includes 81.8 miles of roads.

    On June 6th, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approved the first contracts of the 2017 Pavement Program, kicking off construction on 54.49 miles of roads this summer, as part of a 97 mile program approved by the Board last year. The remaining 42.51 miles are slated for construction in 2018. When the entire 2017 program is completed the County will have paved approximately 300 miles since the summer of 2013, funded with over $65 Million in General Fund Contributions from the Board of Supervisors.

    The Sonoma County Waste Management Agency, a government agency which handles green waste and wood waste composting, household hazardous waste collection and disposal, solid waste education, and solid waste planning, is set to expire on February 11, 2018.  An agreement to continue the programs of this agency has been drafted and must be approved by all members, including the County of Sonoma, to become effective.

    Watmaugh Bridge is seismically vulnerable and severely structurally deficient. The bridge is reaching the end of its service life, and must be replaced. To preserve the historical aesthetics of the bridge, the trusses will be removed from the existing structure and placed onto the new bridge, which will be built within the approximate alignment of the existing bridge.

    Scout Camp Road will be CLOSED for the bridge deck to be replaced from 9/19 – 10/14. Vacation Beach Summer crossing will be closed for the season.

    Lakeville Road tree pruning and removal starts today, 10-11-16. Work hours will be 9 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Thursday, for approximately seven days. We are working between Old Lakeville #2 & Old Lakeville #3 on Lakeville Road. Alternate routes are recommended.
