County Storm Update - Information on debris removal resources for flood recovery

Santa Rosa, CA  –  January 12, 2017 at 4:00 PM  –  Beginning Friday, January 13, 2017, Sonoma County Transportation and Public Works Department will provide disposal sites for residents and businesses affected by Russian River flooding. Six sites will be available to dispose of debris and trash, between the hours of 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Disposal sites will remain open through Sunday, January 15th. In addition, residents will be able to dispose of household hazardous materials at one location on Saturday, January 14th, and Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 8:30 PM to 3:30 p.m.

Debris and Trash Disposal

Date/Time:  Friday, January 13, 2017 through Sunday January 15, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.


  • Guerneville Park n Ride (Hwy. 116/River Road - between Brookside Lane and Gabes Rock Road. Parking lot is located on the north side of River Road)
  • Intersection of Neeley Road, Center Way and Guernewood Road
  • Willow Road
  • Alder Road
  • Intersection of Kingston Avenue and Bohemian Avenue
  • Intersection of Fir Road and Bohemian Highway

Items that will be accepted:
General trash and other non-hazardous debris/materials originating from the flood event only.
Please do not mix hazardous and toxic materials with debris.  No after-hours dumping will be permitted.

Items that will not be accepted:
Hazardous materials or other toxics. A list of hazardous materials is below.

Household Hazardous Material Disposal

Date/Time: Saturday, January 14th, and Saturday, January 21st, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Location: Guerneville Transfer Station - 13450 Pocket Drive, Guerneville, CA 95446.

Damages Reporting

If you have structural safety concerns regarding your home or business due to damages from the recent storm, please use the SoCo Report It app (available on the app stores for iPhones and Androids) or on the web at http://sonomacounty.ca.gov/SoCo-Report-It/ to report damages and contact the Permit and Resource Management Department for an inspection. If no internet service is available, please call 2-1-1. Sonoma County is asking that residents and business owners report all incidences of damage to structures and real property over $1,000.
